New electric mini-van unveiled at IOG Saltex

ePower Trucks, the UK’s leading supplier of low-cost electric commercial vehicles, launched a new battery-powered mini-van at IOG Saltex.

The mia U is a compact panel van, designed for urban transport and delivery applications. At just 1.64m and 3.19m long, its tight turning circle gives it a clear edge in narrow city streets. It has a range of up to 100km (62 miles) - even when fully laden – and a top speed of 100km/h (62mph). The powerful electric motor ensures fast acceleration and easy hill climbs.

Jerry Hanss, Managing Director of ePower Trucks, said: “The range, payload, price and running costs of the mia U combine to make it a really attractive electric van for tradesmen, contractors and delivery companies.”

The 12kWh battery pack can be fully recharged in just five hours and it costs less than 1p per km in “fuel”.  The vehicle is compatible with standard EV charging points offering 220V/16A charging. The robust lithium ion phosphate batteries can also be opportune charged – a quick 10 minute charge will give the vehicle an additional 8km of autonomy. The batteries are warrantied for three years or 50,000km. The vehicle is warrantied for two years.

The mia range of passenger cars is already available in the UK, but IOG Saltex marked the UK debut for the mia U van.
