The Imovation Centre will help UK businesses to develop new, smarter ways of moving people and goods, creating opportunities for growth in the industry
The 36,000 sq ft centre, which opens on June 12, will be a national hub for transport modelling and testing and for the development of new methods of integrating transport systems. It features world-class IT infrastructure, simulation and modelling rooms, collaboration spaces and innovation labs.
Milton Keynes was chosen to host the Transport Systems Catapult following a nationwide search, due to its ease of access for the transport community plus the city’s wealth of skilled talent.
To celebrate the opening of the Imovation Centre, the Transport Systems Catapult has organised an 11 day ‘Imagine Festival' to explore intelligent mobility and the future of transport.
With innovation and policy workshops, technology talks, and guided tours of the Imovation Centre, the Imagine Festival will give a taste of the kinds of fast, convenient, integrated travel that the Imovation Centre is designed to generate.
The Transport Systems Catapult is one of seven UK Catapult centres, established by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) to transform the UK's innovation capability in specific sectors ranging from High Value Manufacturing to Cell Therapy.
