Munich to double transport spend

Munich’s public transport authority (MVG) have announced that €335 million would be spent on rail and bus projects in the coming year.

Tram and metro services in the city will receive the largest chunk of investment.

Around €32 million will be used to finance the new Avenio vehicles and deliver a further tender for new rolling stock.

The authority said €90 million will be spent on technology and infrastructure in 2014.
